The Monet quilt is a good example of my efforts to use innovative mediums to enrich and additionally enhance color. I laid out over 10,000 pieces of more than 300 fabrics in various designs using only every other piece as the theme fabric. The result was a pieced 16'x16' square. Applying a pleating technique, I drew the fabric in and created a new quilting stitch to shrink the picture down to the desired size of 8'x8'. This was a very time consuming process, but the result was worth it.
