Better Homes & Gardens Stitcher-of-the-Year Quilt 'Welcome'

Quilting has been gaining in popularity over the past 25 years. Interest has grown so much that appliqué is now considered a separate area form piecing. Fine detail and accurate, even stitches bring the best value. Many people do not know what qualities to be looking for when buying quilts. The overall appearance first draws their attention. Unfortunately, the stitching or pressing done on a quilt is often so inferior that the piece will not even be worthy of appraisal. Checking to be sure that a high quality job has been done with good use of fabric is not something most people worry about.
I have taught quilting for more than 25 years. I am expert at detail and finishing. I was Stitcher of the Year for a Better Homes & Garden publication in 1995 for the Welcome Quilt. I Love the creative outlet which this form of fabric art allows. My inspiration for quilting is unique. I often work out in my mind new methods and techniques not done before. the Hidden Forest quilt employs at least three of these. The Monet was thought up over a number of years as I tried to add Monet's impressionistic approach to a quilt. Everything about it is unique. I would love to put your ideas into a creative piece.
The three quilts illustrated at the left are ones I have and are available for sale.
