Sleeping Shepardess was one of my first works after visiting Europe about 28 years ago. It was a preprinted canvas and I used traditional gross point to avoid adding too much weight to the piece. I chose to use a petite point stitch on the flesh. This gives greater detail and more interest to the picture. I have a natural tension to my stitching and in my works there is very little canvas distortion that can be seen in most other needlework pieces.
